Fix Link Domain Certificate Errors and Request a New Domain

Use this article when links in your emails show a certificate error, or when you need a new link domain or sending domain. The sending domain is the domain in the From address. The link domain is the branded domain that tracked links point to.

Fix a certificate error on a link domain

A certificate error, or an "SSL not mapped" message from support, usually means the DNS records for your link domain were removed or changed. The certificate then can't be renewed.

  1. Check that the DNS records for your link domain still exist at your DNS provider.

  2. If you still use the link domain, add the records back. If you set up the link domain yourself, use the CNAME record described in White Label. Otherwise, contact support for the current values.

  3. Tell support when the records are in place.

Support checks that the records resolve, then creates a new certificate.

Request a new link domain

To set up a link domain yourself, follow the steps in White Label. To have support set it up for you:

  1. Contact support and ask for the DNS records for the new link domain.

  2. Add the records at your DNS provider, and tell support.

  3. Support validates the records and creates a new adapter that uses the new link domain.

  4. Swap the new adapter into your campaigns when you are ready.

Check which link domain your emails use

A link domain set on the adapter is used for that adapter. If the adapter has none, the account-level link domain is used. The account value is in Account Settings > Other Settings. The adapter value is the Whitelabel host name (CNAME) field in the adapter settings.

For more information, see White Label.

Request a new sending domain

If Blueshift manages your email service (ESP), contact support to request the new sending domain. Tell support the expected email volume and how often you send. Support sends you the DNS records. Add them, tell support, and support validates them and creates the adapter.

If you use your own Mailgun, SendGrid or SparkPost account, add sending domains there. For more information, see Mailgun - Email, SendGrid - Email and SparkPost - Email.
